Ballakermeen High School is an 11 – 18 state school that works closely with Isle of Man Sport to provide elite athletes with support in both their academic and sporting commitments.

Ballakermeen benefits from a state of the art fitness suite, swimming pool, sportshall and gym and uses the 4g pitch, astro turf and athletics track at the National Sports Centre on a daily basis.

We want to ensure that our athletes can balance their school and training commitments, through offering our support, to ensure that they achieve excellent academic qualifications to support their future sporting careers.

TASS Dual Career Accreditation will offer a professional development programme for our athletes and includes such things as:
• A workshop programme delivered in conjunction with Isle of Man sport, to assist with student lifestyle, academic progress, career aspirations and sports performance.
• Timetable flexibility when needed to ensure any lessons and work are followed up. Deadlines can be negotiated during busy training and competition periods.
• Access to school fitness suite after school.
• A designated member of staff to be a point of contact for the students.
• Individual Career advice.
