Manchester Metropolitan University

an ideal place for student athletes to reach their potential

Manchester Metropolitan University is committed to providing the best possible environment for personal, professional and sporting development of our athletes. We are a Swim England Performance Centre, Basketball England Talent Hub and a RFU University Partner. We are connected to many sporting organisations across the North West and beyond and home to a new centre of sports research and teaching excellence – the Manchester Metropolitan University Institute of Sport. All of this, along with our cutting-edge facilities and programme of support, makes us an ideal place for student athletes to reach their potential.

We are very proud to have been recognised by TASS for our work to date in support elite athletes in their academic and sporting endeavours. With a modern campus based in the heart of a global city, just minutes’ away from facilities like the Manchester Aquatics Centre, National Squash Centre and National Cycling Centre, we are well positioned to make high education accessible and beneficial to all those with the passion and ability to succeed. We believe that when facilitated appropriately student athletes can go on to achieve extraordinary things. We have a strategic partnership with Manchester Thunder, four-time Netball Super League champions, Manchester Basketball Club and Sale Sharks Rugby Club where our student athletes are embedded into their performance programmes.
